Family Drive-in Movie Night

Kids getting cabin fever? Here's your chance to get out for a night of family fun without any risk of COVID-19. Beginning on Friday, May 15th and continuing on Friday nights throughout the summer, Pleasant Union UMC will be showing a "Drive-in" movie in the baseball field at the corner of Coble Church Road and NC-62! The movie will be projected onto a BIG screen and the audio will be broadcast on FM 87.9 (just like our drive-in worship services). Each week will begin with a short cartoon for the kiddies, followed by a family-friendly movie (due to copyright restrictions we can't publicize what movie--you'll just have to come to find out!) The cartoon will start at 8:30 pm on the 15th, weather permitting, but that time will be pushed back as the days get longer, so check here or the church Facebook page for updates. This event is open to everyone, so be sure to tell your friends!

"Our Table" Community Meal

While we often speak of the "Our Table" community meal as a local mission, the truth is that many people come to eat together at the church for a variety of reasons, including fellowship! Eating a meal together is a great way for families to reconnect, and a community dinner gives parents, kids, and families a place to meet each other and form lasting friendships. You don't need to have a financial need, or any other need, to come on Thursday evenings between 5:30 and 7:30 for food and fellowship.  The dinner is free, and you don't need to bring anything but yourself!

Note: Due to COVID-19, all meals are "take-out" only. We will reopen for dining and fellowship just as soon as it is safe to do so!

Fellowship Groups

This summer, PUUMC will launch our first fellowship groups!  These groups will meet in members' homes on various days of the week for prayer, Bible study, and mutual support and accountability (and often food!)  More than just a Bible study, these groups of eight to fifteen will commit to praying for one another and being there for each other during the "ups and downs" of life.  This sense of community is why the groups will remain small, but not to worry!  We can always start another!  If you would like to participate in a fellowship group, please speak to Pastor Jim, Pastor Keith, or call the church office.
